Bremerton Arrival - Thursday!

Rob and Christina will be arriving in Bremerton Thursday, October 15th. They will be living in the house next to the church. Stop by and say 'Hi!'

HOME GOING

As you know, we're in the last stages of preparing to go home. The pigs are gone as well as the chickens. The car is secured, battery stored. Had a little problem with the pump at the well but took care of that. Last minuet packing.
As you've seen on my singniture We are now Missionaries to the United States. Remember the great commission? We are all called to preach the Gospel. As soon as we walk out of our churches we are in the mission field. We'd better get busy because the time is short. I don't know what's going to happen first, the Lord returning or us distroying ourselves and I think the latter is happening now. Remember 2nd Chronicles 7:14 We better get busy. He said You receive not because you ask not.( or you ask amiss). See you all stateside in a couple days.
I'll have more to report when we get home. God Bless You.

BY-BY

As most of you know by now we are going home. We'll be leaving here the 14th of Oct. and arriving in Sea-Tac the 15th. Before we go there are a few things we need to do like get rid of the pigs and butcher the chickens. Then we are in the final stages of building the new chrch in MagSaySay. We are planning the dedication services the 10th of Oct. I've put in a few pictures of the construction.

Church pews under construction

The congragation decided they wanted pews for the church. So how to finance them was the next question. They took up pledges and met their goal. Christina and I donated the trees, they had them cut to spects. and let them dry. Two weeks ago they started plaining and sanding. At this time we have four completed. Will have pictures to follow. They want to varnish them also. I think it's amazing that the pastor has them only work one day a week so that they can take care of everything else. I've never seen such good fellowship. They are doing this as unto the Lord. No pay, but we feed them.

UPDATE

I KNOW I'M LATE , PLEASE FORGIVE ME. WE HAVE BEEN SO BUSY, BY THE TIME IT'S TIME TO BLOG I'M TO TIRED. I NEVER HAVE BEEN MUCH OF A LETTER WRITER ANYWAY. MY DAD USED TO SAY THE ONLY TIME YOU WRITE HOME IS WHEN YOU WANT SOMETHING.

WE'VE BEEN BUSY WITH THE CHURCHES TWO ARE IN BUILDING STAGE RIGHT NOW. HAVE TO WAIT FOR PAYDAY TO START. THINGS TAKE A LOT LONGER DOWN HERE THAN IT DOES IN THE STATES. THE PEOPLE JUST DON'T MOVE LIKE WE DO. I TELL THE YOUNG PEOPLE IF THEY EVER GET TO THE STATES, WHEN THEY GET OFF THE PLANE THEY BETTER BE RUNNING. THEY ARE REALLY LAID BACK DOWN HERE. THAT'S PROBABLY WHY THEY LIVE SO LONG. AT ANY RATE WE'VE TURNED OUR CHURCHES OVER TO A/G TO FREE US UP PLANT MORE CHURCHES AND NOT BE TIED DOWN TO THE DAY TO DAY OPPERATION.

CHRISTINA AND I ARE RAISING 15 PIGS TO HELP SUBSIDIZE BUILDING OUR HOUSE ON THE SECOND FLOOR, AS WE TURNED OVER THE DOWNSTAIRS TO THE CHURCH FOR CLASSROOMS. WE HELPED ORDAIN THREE NEW PASTORS INTO THE A/G. WHAT A THRILL TO BE ENVOLVED WITH THE ASSEMBLIES LIKE THAT.

AS YOU CAN SEE IN THE PICTURES WE ARE GOING TO RAISE THE ROOF AND PUT OUR HOUSE ON THE SECOND FLOOR.

REPORTING IN

It's been some time since I've posted and I must apologize for the lack of discipline. We have had a lot going on what with bringing in 15 new pigs into the barn. We hope they will help to subsidize the ministry. The only problem I see is that the last month they can eat you out of house and home but we decided we can eat rice and fish that last month. You see 15 pigs eat 25 kilos of feed a day at that point. As Jesus said some of this comes by prayer and fasting.

We just got back from a sectional meeting of A/G where we interviewed a young pastor to come and pastor our church as we have not had a regular pastor for about 6 months.

We finally received the title to the property over in Mag Say Say so we can make preparations to build something as the Lord provides. We have also been privileged to be a part of the ordination of three new pastors into the A/G. They are pastoring three new works. It's getting exciting to see what God is doing here and it's a privilege to serve him.

It's so much cooler out there, and we also have a fan, running water.and Bar BQ. Not bad for country folks. We rough it purty nice. Let's see if I can just get these pics in here now

Springtime in the Philippines

As some of you know, Christina has a green thumb And no yard would go through Spring without a complete makeover. She and her sidekick " G " are busy collecting organic soil to redue the flowerbeds and the garden spot. You see the soil here is mostly rocks so they make a hole and put in topsoil as a growing medium. I took pics of our egg plant. Have a fresh crop of ocra on the other side and we're going to try some sweet corn this season.

On top of all of that she cleaned out my work-shop and turned it back into a tea house. We use it on Sunday for Childrens Church. All in all it's starting to get hot.

I found this very interesting and wanted to share

THOSE BORN 1920-1979 READ TO THE BOTTOM FOR QUOTE OF THE MONTH BY JAY LENO. IF YOU DON'T READ ANYTHING ELSE---VERY WELL STATED TO ALL THE KIDS WHO SURVIVED the 1930's, 40's, 50's, 60's and 70's!! First, we survived being born to mothers who smoked and/or drank while they were pregnant. They took aspirin, ate blue cheese dressing, tuna from a can, and didn't get tested for diabetes . Then after that trauma, we were put to sleep on our tummies in baby cribs covered with bright colored lead-based paints. We had no child proof lids on medicine bottles, doors or cabinets and when we rode our bikes, we had no helmets, not to mention, the risks we took hitchhiking. As infants & children, we would ride in cars with no car seats, booster seats , seat belts or air bags. Riding in the back of a pick up on a warm day was always a special treat. We drank water from the garden hose and NOT from a bottle. We shared one soft drink with four friends, from one bottle and NO ONE actually died from this. We ate cupcakes, white bread and real butter and drank Kool-aid made with sugar, but we weren't overweight because, WE WERE ALWAYS OUTSIDE PLAYING! We would leave home in the morning and play all day, as long as we were back when the streetlights came on. No one was able to reach us all day. And we were OK. We would spend hours building our go-carts out of scraps and then ridedown the hill, only to find out we forgot the brakes After running into the bushes a few times, we learned to solve the problem. We did not have Playstations, Nintendo 's, X-boxes, no video games at all,no 150 channels on cable, no video movies or DVD's, no surround-sound or CD's, no cell phones, no personal computers, no Internet or chatrooms....... WE HAD FRIENDS and we went outside and found them! We fell out of trees, got cut, broke bones and teeth and there were no lawsuits from these accidents. We ate worms and mud pies made from dirt, and the worms did not live in us forever. We were given BB guns for our 10th birthdays, made up games with sticks and tennis balls and although we were told it would happen, we did not poke out very many eyes. We rode bikes or walked to a friend's house and knocked on the door or rang the bell, or just walked in and talked to them! Little League had tryouts and not everyone made the team. Those who didn't had to learn to deal with disappointment. Imagine that!! The idea of a parent bailing us out if we broke the law was unheard of. They actually sided with the law! These generations have produced some of the best risk-takers, problem solvers and inventors ever! The past 50 years have been an explosion of innovation and new ideas. We had freedom, failure, success and responsibility, and we learned HOW TO DEAL WITH IT ALL! If YOU are one of them CONGRATULATIONS! You might want to share this with others who have had the luck to grow up as kids, before the lawyers and the government regulated so much of our lives for our own good . While you are at it, forward it to your kids so they will know how brave (and lucky) their parents were. Kind of makes you want to run through the house with scissors, doesn't it?! The quote of the month is by Jay Leno: 'With hurricanes, tornados, fires out of control, mud slides, flooding, severe thunderstorms tearing up the country from one end to another, and with the threat of bird flu and terrorist attacks, are we sure this is a good time to take God out of the Pledge of Allegiance ?' For those that prefer to think that God is not watching over us...go ahead and delete this. For the rest of us...pass this ON!

WATER SYSTEM

Well it's Thursday the 27th and I just found out that I need to repair the water pump. You know the motor that gets the water form the well into the tank. The problem as I see it, when you modernize you become dependant upon it. So payday isn't until next Wednesday when we can take it into Ormoc city to get it fixed. ope they can do it in one day as it's a four hour drive round trip. Going to have to figure a way to have a backup pump, however that's not in the budget at this time what with planting a new church. By the grace of God we'll get by.
This Sunday they will have the new church services in a house at Mg Say Say until we can get the new church built. That will save wear and tear on the car.
Nobody ask, but a new pump cost $150.00. Not bad but they don't last very long depending where they're made maybe 6 years or more. Our last one was hit by lighting and was replaced while we were in the states and it was a cheap one that lasted about four years.
Don't forget to pray for our leaders, not only in the world but IN THE CHURCH.
As Christians I really don't think we pray enough, at least for the right things or we wouldn't be in the situation that were in. Amen?

ANIVERSERY CONTINUED

ANIVERSERY 9 YEARS

This last Sunday we celebrated our 9th year anniversary. It was quite a time. We buchard a 80 kilo pig for the event. It takes about 6 hours to cut and prepare the meat. Then it's an all-nite cooking endeavor, what with rice and the different dishes. This is one time Christina and I don't have to cook. Many hands make light work.

Between planting a new church and preparing for the celebration Christina and I we're kept very busy.

Until we get the new church planted, I am transporting the people back and forth, which puts quite a burden on the car. I can only haul about 25 people at a time depending on the size of the person. We had to hire motercycles to help this last Sunday And it's an hour round trip. It seems like every trip something falls off of the car. The road over here is like driving up a river bed, very rough and slow going. I'm reminded of Wayne Myers and his storys of the Mexican roads. Also Ron Veach and his adventures in Mexico hauling water. I have a few pictures of the preparation of the feast.

NEW CHURCH PLANT

As you can tell I'm very excited about our new church. I was told by my friends in the states that I should give tthe dollar amount of the property. So here we are at $445.00USD for a piece of land that will bring glory and honor to our most high God. Folks I get excited.
Christina and I can't do this by ourselves, we need help. This is good ground to sow your seed. It's not for us, but for Jesus.

KITCHEN FLOOR

We were so blessed this last month to have our kitchen floor finished. It is so nice to walk on the smooth tile and a lot easier to keep clean.

Church Plant

We are so happy to announce that we are in the process of planting a new church in Say Say.

We have about thirty five members. We have a piece of property in which to build, we just need to raise about 20000 pesos. The members will build the church but they don't have the money to purchase the land.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Moneys can be deposited into our WaMu acc. thru Living Waters Fellowship in Bremerton.

WE ARE BACK HOME

Happy New Year! Sorry we haven't been blogging. The kids flew us up to Hawaii over the holidays and even though I took the computer, it wouldn't hook up to hi-speed, there fore I couldn't blog. Saying that,we are sure glad to be home. Lots of work to do what with turning the church over to Assembly of God and preparing for our nine year anniversary on the 22nd of February. Buchard a pig to put in the freezer, and restocked our pantry.
